A useful solar system starts with your roof and the way you use electricity. DE Energy is based in Wellington and helps you plan solar, battery storage and smart energy around your home.
Your location, roof and electricity use shape the proposal. Share your suburb or town so we can discuss your project.
01
Is your roof suitable for solar?
Roof area, direction, pitch and shading influence the panel layout. Roof condition, mounting requirements and access also need to be considered. Photos and a description of the property are a useful starting point; final suitability depends on assessment.
02
How much solar do you need?
Bring a recent electricity bill and, if available, your annual consumption and hourly usage. A system should reflect when you use power, the space available and future loads such as an electric vehicle. Panel count alone does not tell you how well a system will fit your home.
03
Should you include a battery?
Solar can work without a battery. Storage can keep available surplus energy for later use. If backup during a power cut matters to you, discuss the equipment and circuits needed: a battery does not automatically provide whole-home backup.
Ask for the proposed panel capacity, inverter, any battery capacity, installation scope, connection arrangements and separate equipment and workmanship warranty terms. Pricing and estimated savings depend on the property and system; compare the assumptions as well as the total.
This home combines 12 × 475 W panels, a 5.7 kW solar array, a 6 kW inverter and 18 kWh of battery storage. A backup gateway is included for power cuts; supported loads and duration depend on configuration and battery charge.
